Cabin Trek

We had a good time at the cabin this weekend, even if the weather didn't cooperate (at least not until Sunday). Natalie did a good job of showing Grandma Lee and Grandpa Kent all of the nooks & crannies at the lake place. I'm pretty sure I caught a bunch of fish and won every game of cribbage but my memory isn't what it used to be so it's hard to say...

My Husband's a Rock Star!

Joey completed the Lifetime Triathlon Olympic Distance race today! He swam .9 mile, biked 25 miles and ran a 10K. He did awesome. Natalie and I are very proud of our man! Oh yeah, the other pic is Natalie giving him a pep talk at dinner the night before the race!

Rocky Weekend!

The weekend started nice, with great-grandma stopping by for a visit on Thursday afternoon. It took Natalie a while to warm up, but by the end of the visit, she let her read a book! Then Natalie, Joey and I headed up to the cabin for what should have been a long weekend. Carl brought his girlfriend Ashley, Karin brought her boyfriend Andy and Craig and Linda were going to meet us there on Saturday. Well, we lasted about 24 hours. Natalie wouldn't sleep on Thursday night, not until Joey drove her around at 4 a.m. She was then cranky all day Friday, working on 5 hours of sleep, a crazy excited dog and some people she didn't know very well. When we tried to go to sleep on Friday night, she cried from 9-11 when we finally drove home. So we spent the 4th at home. We made some tasty steaks and, because I'm the most competitive person ever, I had to show up my brother and make pop-overs. They were AWESOME! Today was a good day, we went to the new Robbinsdale Splash Pad, which Natalie really likes, painted the steps, went to the Y and now are getting ready for summer school tomorrow. Hopefully we'll make it up to the cabin again before the summer's over! Hope everyone had a good weekend! There are more pics in a new album for your entertainment! =)

First Ponytail!

Natalie's hair grows like her mommy's -- really, really fast! The other day I was able to put it in a ponytail, and have to share the pics because she's so darn cute. Last night we went to Alex and Heather's wedding, congrats guys!

Cabin Adventures

Natalie's been to the cabin multiple times, but this is the first time she's been there when it was warm outside and she is walking. It's a whole different world to her! She discovered a sandbox which she loved. She got so dirty -- it's amazing how many places sand can go on a body! She also got to put her Christmas present to use -- her swing! That was the first thing we did each morning. She wasn't so sure of the boat because of the life jacket, but by the third time we went out she was starting to deal with it. She even drove the boat a little! We got home today, headed to Emilia and Evelyn's baptism and had Grandpa Kent over for dinner. Happy Father's day to all the dad's out there.

Week One

Well, Natalie and I are officially home for the summer! I'm still trying to find a job for next year, so it hasn't been as carefree as we'd like. But we're having fun. It's only been a week and we've spent a ton of time at the park, and she even helped me weed the garden yesterday. Last weekend, Grandma and Grandpa Heaner watched Natalie while we went to Joanie and Chad's wedding. She got to reconnect with "The Greats" and they had fun seeing her. She's quite the entertainer! We head up to the cabin tomorrow, so there will be plenty of pics at the end of that mini vacation!
