Friday Fun

It's been quite some time since I took to the blogging airwaves and my fans (fan?) were getting restless. So without further ado...

Natalie and her proud papa are hanging out today. Daycare is on vacation, so I was able to stick around the house and spend some quality time with my favorite little lady in the whole world.

We've already had a busy day. After playing a while in the "big bed" early today, Natalie took a bottle and then had a nice morning nap. Then she took me to Richfield High School so we could visit Mom and see her new classroom (It's big and very neato!)

So far this afternoon, it's been a (fussy) lunch date and now Natalie is cranking out her daily siesta. I can't wait for her to wake up so we can practice crawling some more and work on the correct pronounciation of "Da-Da."

Happy Labor Day!

The Great Minnesota Get-Together

Natalie had her first exposure to the Minnesota State Fair. We were lucky enough to get there in time to spend some time with Grandpa and Grandma Heaner before they left the Fair. Grandma gave Natalie some of her malt, she LOVED it, and of course Grandma had to spoil the little one and buy her a baby stuffed cow in the Dairy Building. The highlight, as always, was the largest boar, Natalie thought it was pretty funny. We had a great time, and the morning was good -- not too crowded and we left when the stroller was becoming too big for the crowd.

Crawling out of our skin!

Here she is! She's CRAWLING! No doubt Emilia and Evelyn "teaching" her how to crawl for six days straight helped spur her along in her endeavors.

Cabin Fever!

We are home from the cabin! It was a week full of food, sand, water, floaty toys, food, cousins, aunts and uncles, food, and oh yeah, food. =) Natalie had her first experience with a lake and she LOVED it! She and her floaty dinosaur spent a big part of two afternoons out in the water. Emilia and Evelyn were very interested in everything little NaNa did and she was well taken care of. Mommy and Daddy got to spend some time reading, doing puzzles, making a fire "after hours" with all the grown ups, and of course Scrabble. One of the highlights had to have been when I was 2 numbers away from winning 171 bucks at Bingo at the Legion in Nisswa! Good times. We had a blast and we can't wait for next year! There are a million pictures in the Cabin album if you want to check them out.

Getting Ready!

We're heading up to the cabin for a week tomorrow morning. So Daddy took Natalie outside to get more used to water because we're going to be in the lake so much. I did my part by reading her Up North at the Cabin, a gift from Jim and Lynn Searcy (perfect timing!). We're signing off for a week, but be prepared for PLENTY of pics when we return!

Summer Daze

We tried swimming for the first time today in Natalie's little pool that took FOREVER to blow up! The first time we tried it wasn't warm enough, but after the pool spent a few hours in the sun, the baby had a nap and some lunch, the water was warm and the baby was ready. She was very cautious not wanting to let go of the side at first, but she got used to it. Aunt Kiki came over to play for a while too and even blew bubbles in the water for Natalie. The swimmer-to-be is growing her gills!

Seattle Day Three and Home Sweet Home

Hey everyone! I know you were all waiting with bated breath for my next post, so here it is. Yesterday we went to Pike Market, which was awesome. HUGE bouquets of flowers for 10 bucks, I've never seen anything like it. Natalie rode a pig, and we watched them throw fish! Today was our trip home. I would not like to thank the cranky man next to us, instead I'd like to say, LIGHTEN UP! He was not happy to be next to me and my baby, and he didn't talk to me the whole time. The man next to the window was nice enough to take a picture of Rainier for me though. I only saw it after we went through the clouds, so this pic is only from what you could see over the clouds. Pretty amazing. Next time I go out there Matt and I are going to go explore the mountain!
Thanks to Matt and Amber for letting us come out and visit. Natalie's a little off today wondering where her cousin is! But we're both happy to see daddy!

Seattle Day Two

Hi there! Yesterday we went to the Space Needle. Natalie had to be carried by mommy the whole wait because they don't allow strollers. She's is a BIG girl! =) It was pretty cool though. I have pics, but my camera doesn't connect here, so I'll post pics when we get home. Last night we saw Pat and Shelley, their house is beautiful! I even got pretty close to a horse! No riding though, maybe some day. Shelley said she'd help me conquer my fear someday. (We'll see!) Today we're going to venture to Pike Market, that is if we can all get in one car. The two girls take up the whole backseat, so I might be able to SQUEEZE between them. Who knows. I'm already getting anxious for the flight tomorrow. But I'm sure she'll do great, just like she did on the way here.
