Sunday Fun

Well Natalie is napping right now. Mom is catching the soon-to-be-named Best Picture. Earlier today Natalie helped me out at Menards and maybe she will do some sanding in the bathroom too (OK, maybe not).

Natalie hopes you all have a fun time watching the Oscars tonight!

So Pretty!

I am not and never have been a girly girl. But Natalie is SO cute with hair clips! Her hair is getting long in front, so I thought it would be fun to put clips in her hair. I was right. She's adorable!

YEA!

Joey and I took Natalie to the doctor to see if the fifth round of antibiotics did the job on her ears. She's been in a great mood lately, but she also was last time before getting the news that it was so bad that it looked like her ear drum would burst. So I wasn't feeling too optimistic. But we got an all clear for the first time since the end of November! I almost cried I was so excited. Natalie's excited too and was too happy to sleep tonight! Great news just in time for her 14-month birthday! We love you little Noodle!

Natalie's having fun again

Natalie seems to be enjoying life again, giggling as much as possible and talking gibberish to whomever will listen.

Flipped a switch

So for over a week, our little Noodle has been in great spirits -- the best mood she's been in for months. We figured the ears were clear. Last night, we surprised grandma and with grandpa took her out to Fridays for apps and margaritas. Natalie was a champ, flirting with other tables, having a blast up past her bed time. But once we got home, she was up literally all night, either crying to the point of hyperventilating or quietly sobbing in her room. Today she slept all day. So Joey and I decided to bring her to urgent care. She had a fever of 101.6 and he said her left ear drum is about to burst. Apparently, that's not the worst thing in the world, like it sounded to me. Apparently, it would take the pressure off and drain. Whatever, it sounds bad to mommy. She's sleeping peacefully now, doped up on Advil, Tylenol and antibiotics. I hope my happy baby returns soon. I feel so helpless when she cries that hard.

Happy kiddo!

Natalie is in great spirits! Must be over her flu & ear infections -- let's hope the happy little lady is here to stay!

Tearful Goodbye

So Alana will probably chuckle when she reads this, but this morning Grandma and Grandpa Gus came to get Natalie to take her to the cabin for the night. And when I put her in the van, she cried pretty hard, which made me cry too. I know someday watching grandparents take my children for the night will give me a sigh of relief, but I'm not there yet. Joey and I are going to get some work done today (writing finals!) and then head into St. Paul for a belated anniversary night out. We'll head to the cabin tomorrow to extend our mini vaca. We haven't been up there since early November, so it should be nice and relaxing.
